lazy waterer from temu

I am back once again testing a new product from TEMU. This time I have tested the “Lazy Flower Waterer”, a product helping you keeping the soil moist so that your flowers or vegetables can grow in perfect conditions without you watering them constantly. In other words, this product will help you drip water to your plants on a regular basis to keep the soil working properly. It is also useful, because the water goes directly to the soil/roots, instead of hitting the leaves which often can cause damage to plants and vegetables. But, is the “Lazy Flower Waterer” from TEMU worth the money? Does it get the job done?

package I received from TEMU

The package I received from TEMU looking something like this. It is important to know that the bottles required are not included, so you need to get hold of those on your own. It is easy to use the product, you only need to add the little grey controller to the blue product and put it into the soil. As you turn the grey/brown controller around, you can decide how frequently the water is to drip onto the soil. That sounds nice, doesn’t it?

I decided to give it a try with a 0,5l bottle of Pepsi (though I drank the Pepsi first and filled it with water afterward).

It looks quite good, doesn’t it? You should, however, compare my picture with the one from the ad.

The picture above is from the TEMU site. Have you noticed that barely nothing is located in the soil? This product is not a heavy one, meaning that unless it has something to lean on, it will not work. The only way the picture above is possible, is if the plant itself is so strange that it can keep the bottle and everything by having the bottle leaning on the plant.

To me, the entire blue holder was pushed down into the soil, and then, and only then, was it able to keep the bottle with 0,5l water. I also placed it next to a window once and then the window held the holder and the bottle, but unless you have a deep pot for your plant/vegetable, or a wall next to the plant, it will fall and not get the job done. You can also forget about bigger bottles, because once again, it will all fall apart and most likely ruin your plant as it brings soil and roots along when it falls out from the pot.

Let us imagine that everything is working properly and the holder with the water bottle is stuck nicely in the soil. Is everything okay?

You need some time to make the adjustments for how frequently water should fall into the soil, but it is working.

Is the “Lazy Flower Waterer” from TEMU something you should buy?

I must say that is strongly depends on where and for what you want to use it. Since it will not really work with larger bottles than 0,5l (unless you can lean them onto a wall), they will only get the work done for a very limited time, at least in a warm climate. For outdoor vegetables and plants they can keep you protected for some days if the weather is average, but if it gets too hot, you need more water and these will not help you.

For an indoor environment these can help you if you travel on a holiday for 5-10 days, as it can ensure that the plants get enough water to survive in a room-temperature for that period of time.

However, I am not very enthusiastic about the product. It is hard to adjust it to the amount of water you want to use, and you have little control and it is impossible to see how much water will be spent in how much time. In the end, you need a bit of luck to configure it the right way, and even though you have configured one holder, then you still need to get the same job done with the next holder.

What’s the final verdict?

I wouldn’t buy it again. I’d rather look for something better and more stable, or I’d find another solution. This is just plastic waste that few people will use, but many will buy, because it looks good, but it doesn’t really get the job done properly, even though the idea and the concept is good.

I am incredibly curious and I love to test news products. Unfortunately, I easily order too much from TEMU, and often end up buying a lot of products that I don't like and regret buying. But, I also buy lots of products that I fall in love with. Here I am trying to share my experiences with you before you shop, so that you can buy useful stuff and skip the junk-products. It that way you can save money, and we can also take better care of the environment together!
